Julia Rose Polk is Founder of Trauma Camp, an online program that aids educators in becoming trauma-informed. Julia Rose has spent the last decade researching, studying, and writing about childhood trauma. Throughout her clinical training as a therapist, she has assisted young children, adolescents, and adults who were recovering from early childhood traumas. She is a certified Youth Trauma Treatment Professional, has lectured and trained mental health professionals on the topic, and published her Masters thesis on the traumatic implications of a popular parenting practice in America. She earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and her Bachelors in Journalism from DePaul University. She has worked for major nonprofits such as the Clinton Foundation, KCET, Beit T’Shuvah, and Honor Kids International. Julia Rose established Trauma Camp with the intention to not just treat trauma in its aftermath, but to empower adults to help prevent its occurrence in the first place.
